The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has cancelled its scheduled election campaign events on Monday (April 6, 2026), featuring party founder and actor C. Joseph Vijay, in the Villivakkam and T. Nagar Assembly constituencies in Chennai. The decision follows alleged restrictions imposed by the police, according to party officials. Aadhav Arjuna, TVK’s General Secretary for Election Campaign Management and the party’s candidate for Villivakkam, stated that the Returning Officer (RO) had significantly reduced the permitted campaign duration in T. Nagar from four hours to just one hour, reportedly due to police pressure.Citing these constraints, the party opted to call off both campaign events, raising concerns over limitations affecting its election activities.
