More than 40 members of Iran’s parliament have cautioned against continuing negotiations with the United States unless frozen Iranian assets are released in advance. In a statement carried by Fars News Agency, 41 lawmakers described ongoing talks under current conditions as “unacceptable,” emphasizing that the unfreezing of national assets must be treated as a key prerequisite for any diplomatic engagement. The lawmakers urged authorities to maintain a firm stance until this demand is met, stressing that economic rights should not be compromised during negotiations.
They also accused Washington of repeatedly breaching ceasefire understandings, warning that failing to respond decisively—while continuing talks—could normalize what they described as a dangerous pattern.Additionally, the group raised concerns over limited parliamentary oversight, noting that full legislative sessions have not been held in recent weeks. They called for parliament to reconvene formally to assess developments and ensure transparency in decision-making.
