In celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, festival gift packs were distributed to 150 artists through a joint initiative by the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation, the Central Cultural Fund, and the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs.
The event took place on Friday, April 10, at Sawsiripaya on Wijerama Mawatha in Colombo, under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Gamagedara Dissanayake and Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffer.Several distinguished guests attended the occasion, including Private Secretary Nimal Rathnayake, Media Secretary Wijesekera Walisundra, Director General of the Central Cultural Fund Dr. Nilan Cooray, and Director General of the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation Dr. B.M.S. Dissanayake. Senior artists and staff members of the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation were also present.
The initiative highlighted the government’s continued commitment to supporting and appreciating the contributions of artists, while marking the festive season with goodwill and recognition.
